Initial Issue

The client needs to install a PEHD RC Ø63 mm water pipeline over a distance of 1,300 meters for water supply. The pipeline is being laid along the roadside.
The client requested an installation with sand bedding to protect the PEHD.

Proposed Solutions

• Deployment of the TRN 287 GD2 machine.
• Marais proposed a mechanized installation solution using a trenching wheel.
• Driver: Stéphane SAULNIER.

Results

• Performance: 200 meters per hour.
• Client’s team: 4 workers, 2 excavators, 1 loader, and 1 truck.

Worksite Challenges

Due to heavy rainfall on Monday, January 27, 2025, the client decided not to dig trenches.
The presence of clay in certain areas of the site would have made the ground too muddy, and the sticky soil would not have allowed for satisfactory results.
