Initial Issue

SOBECAMAT, a specialist in infrastructure works, engaged Groupe Marais for the installation of high-voltage HTA cables in the La Souterraine region of Creuse. The project involved the installation of five HTA cables, as well as three PEHD DN40 conduits. This mission presented a technical challenge due to the need for efficient mechanized installation and strict compliance with spacing and safety constraints.

Solutions

To meet the client's requirements, Groupe Marais opted for an integrated mechanized installation, combining several key steps:

• Trenching and simultaneous installation of four HTA cables, with an integrated loading and sandblasting process, ensuring rapid and secure placement.
• Installation of additional networks: The two PEHD DN40 networks were installed by the client 20 cm above the trench created by our teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory spacing standards.
• Adaptation to terrain constraints: The sloped roadside required the use of a specific trencher equipped with a slope and chassis correction system, ensuring consistent trench depth and increased equipment stability.

Results

Thanks to the expertise and mechanized solutions of Groupe Marais, the project objectives were successfully achieved:

• Total length completed: 4,133 linear meters.
• Trench characteristics: 0.55 m width and 1.60 m depth.
• Average progress rate: 200 linear meters per day, optimizing the overall completion timeline.

To ensure optimal efficiency and adaptation to the specific terrain, Groupe Marais deployed a Type 950 SLO chain trencher. This equipment enabled precise and rapid cutting while ensuring site safety and compliance.
